I have a lot of handbags and purses. Like, a lot of them. I’m usually pretty good at switching out my bag to match (or at least complement the aesthetic of) my outfits, but I’m not always so good at completely cleaning them out each time. So as a result of my half-assedness, I have a whole mess of bags with receipts and ticket stubs and small nuggets of nostalgia nestled within their inner pockets.

Since I cleaned out my closets yesterday, I decided I might as well donate/sell some of my bags also. That meant I had to rid those bags of all traces of Laurie memorabilia. Here’s some of what I found:

Many, many matchbooks…

And it’s funny, because I actually remember most of the occasions when I procured these. I got the YMing matches at the restaurant in London – a good friend of my college boyfriend was going to the London School of Economics while I was there and he treated me to a lovely dinner there (I remember because it was one of the few times I went to a restaurant in London; I was so broke I was in no position to be dining out). Clyde’s was from a family dinner at the Old Town Alexandria restaurant. 9:30 club was the Supergrass show a week before I left for London in October 2004. Galaxy Hut was from the Thomas Lunch and The Drugs Halloween show in 2005. Anotheroom was one of the last pleasant date nights I had with a previous boyfriend… Memories…

A handful of ticket stubs…

A Texas star…

A biting reminder of the worst job I’ve ever had…

The Canadian flag…

Somebody’s children…

A pair of branded coasters…

A warm reminder of my first day in London…

DC band paraphernalia…

Toys…

And my college graduation cap!

And also, this is my hundredth post! Woot woot!
