I’ve had some serious insomnia recently – like I’m awake when the sky lightens and the birds start chirping. I’m not entirely sure why I can’t sleep during normal sleep hours, but at least I’ve been putting those wee hours to good use. I’m determined to get better at flash photography and long/night exposures before the road trip. Determined.
Here’s how I’m doing so far:

Today was the first beautiful, appropriately summery day we’ve had in quite some time… and I spent most of it indoors, of course (planning something VERY exciting, which I will divulge soon). But when I did venture out, this is what I wore… comfortable, breathable, with dancing shoes:

Lately, my daily outfits have been stuck in a rut; it’s hard to care about what you’re wearing when all you do is clean the apartment and walk the dog. But I’m determined to turn this around. Determined!

Paul Smith is having their annual Friends & Family sample sale; this is cause for much merriment. It runs for two glorious, discount-filled days and let me tell you… it’s been amazing! As soon as I walked in, I was blown away by rack after rack of fabulous garments from this great English designer. So many colors and textures and the shoes… oh God… the shoes.
I scored a pretty sweet haul, mostly accessories and this lovely, lovely bandeau bathing suit that I seriously coveted last year. Here’s the first run – this great floppy straw hat and a very intensely yellow belt! When paired with my T by Alexander Wang dress, I totally feel like a spy, a woman of mystery, if you will.
